Tracks & Topics

Concurrent Education Sessions take place from Wednesday through Friday and are organized into seven tracks.

The overall schedule is designed to provide maximum time for sessions, visiting the EXPO, and networking throughout the day. Speakers are encouraged to deliver education sessions which focus on immediate application of your learning back-on-the-job.

Preconference Workshops & Certificate Programs

If you want to dive deeper into a specific area of interest, we encourage you to extend your ATD TechKnowledge experience by signing up for a preconference workshop or certificate program.

General Sessions

General Sessions will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday showcasing our forward-looking, though-provoking, keynote speakers. These sessions are an opportunity for all conference participants to come together and hear from thought leaders offering insight, inspiration, current thinking and future trends on a range of topics. Wednesday and Thursday General Sessions will be followed by extended EXPO time.

Hands-On Learning

Get out of the auditorium and enter our tech labs, where you have the opportunity to truly experience new technologies for yourself. These practical, two-hour sessions will give you a hands-on opportunity to learn a tool or technology. Attendance is on a first come, first served basis. Many of the sessions will be repeated to allow more people to attend.

Disrupt Room

Back by popular demand, the Disrupt Room is your break from ordinary sessions. Rapid-fire presentations, one-on-one coaching sessions, attendee-driven collaboration, and hands-on experiences with the latest technologies are just some of the opportunities you’ll have. Here’s a sample of what attendees will experience:

  • xAPI Showcase—Learn simple, lightweight ways to store and retrieve records about learners and share these data across platforms.
  • Fail Jam—Attendees will share their biggest “fails” and what they learned from them.
  • AR and VR in Action—Get hands on with the latest augmented and virtual reality used for talent development.
